The young and exuberant staff of British Council, Kolkata has made this difference and transformed it to a more cheerful and welcoming place. Thus the popularity of British Council, Kolkata is steadily gaining popularity.

Just like all British Council offices, British Council, Kolkata also provides similar services such as English Language teaching, educational counselling and cultural events. Providing information about British Council scholarships, holding exams of the British Boards or IELTS or other courses such as Marketing and Management, Finance, English Teaching etc, and participating in social programs in partnership with other social enterprises are other important activities of British Council, Kolkata. The project Kolkata Goalz is a project to engage Kolkata’s disaffected youth through the best of English football . Launched in July 2011, Kolkata Goalz by the Premier League, the British Council, Kolkata Police, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, All India Football Federation and Indian Football Association with an aim to encourage young people from across Kolkata to aim for a more positive future.

The library at British Council, Kolkata is also an important resource offered to the public that is very popular because of the scope and quality of books that are available to the lover of English language. 

Library, Information and Teaching Centre of the British Council, Kolkata can be accessed fromMonday to Saturday between 11.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. Examination and Education UK Services from Monday to Saturday between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.  The timings of the British Council, Kolkata office are from Monday to Friday between 09:00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
